IAUE Boosts Police Capacity To Fight Crime ….Donates Vehicle To Station
The Vice-Chancellor of the
Rivers State-owned Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUEj, Prof Joseph Kinanee, has presented a brand new Peugeot car to the Divisional Police Officer (DPOj, Rumuolumeni Police Station,Superintendent Kingsley Chukueggu.
Handing over the keys of the vehicle, with Registration number RV 17 A46, donated by the university authorities to the new DPO, Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Joseph Kinanee, said that the gesture was in fulfillment of his earlier promise to the station in appreciation of the incredible services of the officers and men of the station, which had translated into the drastic reduction in crime rate in the area.
The vice chancellor challenged the officers and men of the station to redouble their efforts to ensure that the spiralling spate of violence and cult-related killings in other parts of the state do not extend to the circumference of the university community, and assured that his management team would continue to do more to ensure that security agencies and officers maintain enhanced level of vigilance and commitment to effective and efficient services to the university community and residents of communities around the area.
In his response, the DPO, Kingsley Chukueggu, thanked the vice-chancellor, his management team and the entire staff and students for their cooperation and constant support to the station.
