Gokana CTC Boss Decries Invasion Of Ex-Militant’s House
The Chairman Caretaker
committee of Gokana Local Government Area, Hon. Austin Sor, has described as politically motivated the invasion of the house of a former militant leader, Hon. Solomon Ndigbara by soldiers.
Soldiers from the Brigade Command, Bori Camp had on Sunday invaded the residence of Solomon Ndigbara at Yeghe in Gokana Local Government Area.
The command in a statement claimed that it acted on information and had recovered some arms.
Conducting newsmen round the residence of the ex-militant leader, the Gokana council chairman described the invasion as a breach of the fundamental rights of Chief Ndigbara adding that the ex-militant leader having embraced amnesty is now a peace ambassador
Hon. Sor alleged that during the invasion, the ex-militant leader’s residence was ransacked, his property destroyed while his wife and two brothers were taken away.
He condemned the action of the soldiers, stressing that time has come for those in positions of authority to adopt civilised means of addressing issues.
The council boss however said that Ogoni youths, as peace loving people. would not be provoked to react violently to the invasion.
According to him, reports have already be lodged with the state Police Command and the Brigade Command Bori Camp over the incidence and used the occasion to call on politicians to avoid acts capable of derailing the peace of Gokana and the entire Ogoni.
