Salary Payment: Obuah Hails Wike

Paramount Ruler of Edagberi Community in Ahoada West LGA of Rivers State, Chief Sunny Jacob Ubele (right), presiding over a Council of Chiefs meeting convened to deliberate on oil leakage incident at Adibawa Oil field located within the community on Monday.
The Rivers State Chairman
of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro Felix Obuh, has given a thumb up to Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for keeping faith with his promise to clear salaries and allowances owed civil servants in the state by Chibuike Amaechi administration.
Reacting to the payment of owed salaries and allowances of Rivers workers, Obuah described Governor Wike as a man of his words and a dependable leader.
He recalled that the governor had during his electioneering campaign promised civil servants, pensioners and other public servants in the state that were denied their monthly legitimate entitlements by former Governor Amaechi to clear the backlog of salaries owed them as soon as he assumed duty as the state Governor. This, the PDP chairman noted is a promise redeemed as the affected civil servants have bounced back to life following the payment of their salaries and allowances by the Governor Wike.
The PDP boss said that by this development, the Rivers men and women and all those doing business in the state are happy and earn their living without undue stress and pains.
But he regretted that former Governor Amaechi thwarted the good vision of Rivers State and sold out the state in the course of running the affairs of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Unarguably Obuah said Governor Wike had proved that he is focused and constantly feeling the pulse of the people, describing him as an essential leadership trait that has proved PDP right and the critics wrong, and which further has strengthened the confidence and trust of people on him (governor).
Meanwhile, Obuah has commissioned a befitting staff canteen of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) at Rumueme in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
Commissioning the facility at the premises of RIWAMA, Obuah who is the sole administrator of the Agency said the canteen facility was meant to provide better working environment for workers towards enhanced efficiency and productivity.
He expressed disappointment over the absence of a standard canteen for the Agency’s workforce over the years and assured members of staff of improved condition of service during his administration.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
