CTC Boss Promises Peace, Dev
The Caretaker Committee
Chairman of Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr Confidence Deko has promised to work towards enthroning peace and development in the local government.
Deko, who spoke at the inauguration of the committee’s members, said every member must be prepared to give the people of Gokana quality service that would promote goodwill among them.
The Gokana CTC boss admonished the members to be committed in the discharge of their responsibilities and more importantly to live exemplary lives.
He was categorical that the CTC has a mandate to re-position the area for good and therefore said they could not afford to fail Governor Nyesom Wike and the people of the area.
Committee members inaugurated include Mrs Nubari Banuna, Supervisor for Education,Baridom Gbi, Supervisor for Agriculture, Baadom Leziga-Supervisor for Works and transports; Daughter Bor-supervisor for women Affairs, Hon Tee Deebom-Supervisor for Health, Youths and sport and Chief Akpo Godwin, Supervisor for chieftaincy Affairs and Culture.
Also speaking, a foremost youth leader and former Niger Delta Militant leader, Chief Solomon .B. Ndigbara, charged the newly appointed caretaker committee not betray the confidence reposed on them.
Ndigbara also urged them to key into the New Rivers Vision of Governor Nyesom Wike to transform Rivers State to greater heights.
He also advised them to embark on projects that would have direct bearing on the people of the area, stressing the need to carry everybody along irrespective of party affiliation.
Shortly after the CTC inauguration, Deko, in a chat with journalists also condemned the destruction of the property of Chief Sunday Deeko, the paramount ruler of Beera Community by youths of the area for alleged wrong doing.
The Gokana CTC boss said it was unlawful for the youths of Beera community to take laws into their hands.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
