FAAN Apologises To Air Travellers
The Federal Airports Au
thority of Nigeria (FAAN) has attributed the current traffic congestion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to the ongoing construction work at the airport.
A statement issued in Abuja recently and signed by Mr Yakubu Dati, the General Manager, Public Affairs of FAAN, said that the ongoing projects had taken up considerable land space.
It said that the construction included a new international terminal, close to the existing terminal and an ultra-modern car park.
“FAAN wishes to apologise to users of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, especially air passengers, for the traffic congestion that has been experienced at the airport recently due to ongoing projects.
“We appeal to all airport users to bear with us as the authority is taking measures to ameliorate the situation, pending the completion of these projects.
“However, we advise passengers departing from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to arrange to leave their homes early on their travel days, to enable them to complete boarding formalities in good time”.
The statement also appealed to drivers coming to pick their arriving guests to get to the airport not earlier than an hour before scheduled arrival times.
