Peterside Assures Oginigba Of Fair Deal
The All Progressives
Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, has promised to give the people of Oginigba community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State a fair deal, saying, if elected, the people of the community would feel the positive impact of government from day one.
Dr Peterside, who gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Oginigba community recently said he would work in such a way that the people of the area would know that they have a son in Government House if given the mandate.
He thanked the Paramount Ruler, Eze G. B. Odum for maintaining peace in his domain as well as for the support and co-operation he had given the government, the security agencies and companies operating in the area, stressing that the monarch had become a model for other traditional rulers in the state to copy.
“If other traditional rulers will operate the way you are operating, there will be total peace in Rivers State,” he said.
The APC governorship candidate also thanked the traditional ruler for always supporting a just and right cause, describing him as a man who believes in truth, justice, equity and fairness.
Dr. Peterside further enjoined Eze Odum to guide the people of the area to make the right choice during the forthcoming elections, stressing that, “as we proceed to elections, we will be making a choice that is very easy to discern; between black and white, between good and bad.”
He explained that there was the need for the people of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in particular and the state in general to support APC, “so that we don’t create a monster among ourselves. We don’t make one man become god unto us. No man is God. God is God.”
In his response, the Paramount Ruler of Oginigba community, Eze G. B. Odum thanked the APC governorship candidate and his entourage for the visit, noting that Dr Peterside was the choice of the people.
He stressed the need for Oginigba community and the people of Ward 6 to be remembered by the in-coming administration, particularly against the backdrop of the area hosting over 75 per cent of industrial estates in the state.
While assuring the APC governorship candidate of the support of his people, he prayed God to grant him protection, long life and victory at the polls.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
