Kattey Ordains Archdeacon, Five Deacons

ince of Niger Delta and Bishop, Diocese of Niger Delta North, the Most Reverend Ignatius C. O. Kattey (JP) has collated and ordained one archdeacon and five deacons.
Those ordained as deacons are Rev Lucky Nduwe- Wike, Rev ThankGod Okor, Rev Blessed Emmanuel, Rev Nnamdi Oraelosi and Rev King Aigbokhae, while Ven Basil Chukwu-Maosi Orah was collated as archdeacon.
The collation and ordination service which took place recently at St Stephen’s (Ang) Church, Alode Parish, Eleme Archdeaconry had the Lord Bishop, Missionary Dioces of Zaki-Biam, the Rt Rev Benjamin A. Vanger as guest preacher.
During the ceremony, Most Rev Kattey (JP) urged the new archdeacon and deacons to labour with zeal, goodwill, love and keep themselves away from unbecoming ways and surrender themselves to God.
Most Rev Kattey prayed that the Almighty God should grant them the strength and power to perform their callings, adding that God would accomplish His work which He had begun in them.
The Archbishop pointed out that the church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion is part of the one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church worshipping the one true God, father, Son and Holy Spirit which professes the faith uniquely revealed in the Holy Scriptures, ordains.He urged the newly ordained deacons to be loyal to the inheritance of faith under the inspiration and guidance of God in bringing the grace and truth of Christ to this generation while making Christ known to those in their care.
In his sermon, the Lord Bishop, Missionary Diocese of Zaki-Biam, Rt Rev Benjamin A. Vanger reminded the new archdeacon and deacons of the vows they made to serve the Lord and warned that if their hope in the ministry was to make money, then they would fail.
Rt Rev Vanger opined that the Church of Christ is a resistance movement, stating that the Boko Haram insurgents know that Christians are more in number hence they are very desperate but “we shall overcome”.
The collation and ordination ceremony featured prayers for the peace of the nation.
