God Is With You, Cleric Assures Amaechi
President and Leader of
the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Dr. Ted Wilson has assured Governor Chibuike Amaechi of God’s sustenance and protection in the face of adversity.
Wilson gave the assurance when he and members of the church’s visited the governor at Government House in Port Harcourt, on Monday as part of a country-wide tour to mark the church 100 years in the country.
Wilson said he was pleased that the governor and his executive council had made God their pillar and source of wisdom in piloting the affairs of the state.
He said, “ I see in so many places around this circle the holy word of God and that tells me that wisdom is not far from those who sit in this chambers.’’
Dr. Wilson also praised the governor for the religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence of all people just as he intimated him of the programmes and activities of the church which cover humanitarian, spiritual and social programmes.
Governor Amaechi congratulated the church for attaining 100 years, noting that it was unique as it coincided with Nigeria’s centenary celebration and described the Seventh Day Adventist Church as one of the orthodox orgnisations that has maintained its strict Christian doctrines.
Enjoining members to pray for its leaders, Amaechi prayed that the celebrations will be successful and achieve its aim.
The governor informed the church that God has always been the pillar of his government, hence he prevails even in the face of adversity.
