Monarch Charges NAOC On Power, Water Facilities
The paramount ruler of
Etekwuru community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze S.A Okwodu, has urged the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) to come to the aid of the community by rehabilitating and restoring the damaged electricity and water supply facilities in the area.
Eze Okwodu made the appeal during the official handover of medical/laboratory equipment respectively donated by the Nigerian Agip Oil Company to Agrisaba and Akakumama communities in Nembe local government area of Bayelsa State, Etekwuru town in Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo State and Idu-Osobile community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of Rivers State, last Thursday at Agip base in Port Harcourt.
The paramount ruler who was represented by Chief Kenneth Okwodu, while thanking NAOC for donating the medical/laboratory equipment to enhance healthcare delivery in the area, noted that electricity and water supply are key agents of rural transformation, capable of boosting economic activities of the community, as well as improve the living standard of the people .
Speaking at the official handover of the items to the respective communities, the General Manager District, Massimo Insulla, represented by the Assistant Manager, Public Relation, Mrs Grace Okpoyo, said that the presentation of the medical/laboratory equipment is a testament of the importance NAOC attach to healthcare services to the host communities across the operational states.
He said, the equipment will go a long way in boosting healthcare delivery, also improve the health condition of the people in the area.
The GMD assured that NAOC will continue to place priority on the wellness and wellbeing of the host communities.
In their respective vote of thanks, the Obenama of Agrisaba community, King Walter Samuel, the chairman Akakumama Council of Chiefs, Chief N. A. Donka, the paramount ruler of Idu-Osobile, Chief Saturday Nwokidu and Chief Kenneth Okwodu of Etekwuru community commended NAOC for the healthcare delivery initiative and assured to utilise the equipment judiciously for its purposes, as well as reciprocate the gesture by maintaining the existing peace and industrial harmony.
