Thousands of Job seekers from different parts of the state have besieged the office of the chairman of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission over the alleged availability of application forms into the federal civil service.
The Job seekers made up of young men and women barricaded the entrance to the commission, preventing people from going in and coming out of the commission.

Sir. Ngo Martins Yellowe, also said that the commission is working hard to reduce the backlog of promotions stressing that the commission is putting in place processes to commence another round of promotion interview in the state.
He called for synergy between the commission and the Association, stressing that as senior civil servants, dialogue rather than confrontation should be the only means of resolving all kinds of industrial disputes.
The commission chairman also urged civil servants to braceup for the challenges ahead, by giving their best to the system, as it is the only way both the service and the state can move foreward and assured them of the continuous support of the commission.
In an address read by the newly elected chairman Association of senior civil servants of Nigeria, Rivers State chapter, comrade Pastor Austin Jonah said that the visit was part of the traditional loyalty and homage to the commission and the chairman.
Comrade Jonah urged the commission to look into the issue of promotion of civil servants, Education and Training as well as delay in salary payment to civil servants.
He said that the union is of the opinion that “this commission should please advised the government of Rivers State to please have a specific date or dates that will be set aside for payment of salaries which will be a replica of what is obtainable in the oil sectors’ he said.
