Eternit Moves Closer To Consumers
A leading manufacturer of
roofing and ceiling products, Eternit Limited, has moved to get closer to its consumers, especially, in Port Harcourt by opening up new sales office in the city.
Speaking last Wednesday, during the official opening ceremony of the sales office in Port Harcourt, the Managing Director, Eternit Nigeria Limited, Mr. Dirk Modderman said that the move was part of a new marketing offensive by the company.
According to him, Eternit wants to be involved in the direct marketing of its products to the people by ensuring that they are more informed about the company.
He said that the Port Harcourt sales office was the first since the establishment of the company in 1974 and that others would follow in Abuja and other cities.
“We’re going to have more information and exhibition stand in such offices and deal first hand with our non-distributors customers, the new sales offices are built directly for the consumers”, said the Managing Director.
He further said that Eternit products have been tested and proven, and that in recent time, the company has moved from using wooden materials to steel.
The roofing materials range from super lightweight Coolite to Super Seven and Ultra – 7 while the ceiling range from Cora title, Cheri title, Estetic 33, Excelceil, Superceil and Acoustile, which can be metal, suspended ceilings or nailed.
Mr. Modderman said that other competing products have come into the market but that Eternit products are so good, but somewhere along the line, the Eternit message has been lost.
He, however, stated that it is better to use quality materials in buildings which in the long run would prove cheaper than using inferior products.
The Managing Director said that there are buildings still standing today which were roofed since 1974 with Eternit products and were yet to be changed.
