Agip Empowers 60 Businessmen
Not less than 60 sons and daughters of Mgbede community in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area have been engaged as sub-contractors by the Nigeria Agip Oil Company.
The Eze Ali II of Mgbede, HRH Eze Chadwick Nkem Ogor who disclosed this during his tenth years anniversary also said that similar gesture was extended to the community by Saipem Nigeria Limited which also engaged indigenes of the community in temporary employment, Eze Ogor who attributed development to the quality leadership in the area and that within the last ten year more than 60 persons have been financially empowered with N300,000 each.
Other achievements according to him include, the construction of twelve kilometres internal road in the community, expansion and modernisation of Mgbede market, building of Abattoir and cold room amongst others.
The traditional ruler who said that his enthronement was divinely ordained, also disclosed plans for the establishment of the Ogbugu Foundation to address the human capital development of the community.
Also speaking, the Nze Obi Egbema HRM Eze Everastus Amudu stressed the need for the community to support their Eze to enable the area witness more development.
The Chairman Anniversary Planning Nommittee Eze Goodluck Abaha Nwabisi commended the Eze Ali for remaining resolate on his develop the community and assured him of support.
Also speaking the secretary the planning committee, Engr Onwuomaegbu Wisdom Achum said that the Mgbede monarch has by his effort ensured that the youths of the area are engaged in meaningful employment, stressing that the celeberation was meant to thank God for what he has used the Eze to do in the community in the last ten years.
