Eschew Violence, Cleric Urges Nigerians
A cleric has urged Nigerians to eschew all forms of violence and be patient with the present administration in the country as it promises to stabilise and deepen the democratic process.
The senior Pastor of the Glorious Covenant Church, Olufemi Samuel Akinola gave the charge in his message to the flock during the 10th year celebration of the Freedom Parish.
Akinola who is the District Superintendent of the Ministry called on the people to get closer to God, adding that the violence in some parts of the country were as a result of ignorance.
The clergyman noted that God has placed Nigeria high above other nations, stressing that the nation was at the threshold of becoming great.
He urged Nigerian to unite to ensure peace in the country, saying only a peaceful country could record meaningful progress.
Also speaking, the host Pastor, Pastor Charles Obakpolor urged Nigerians to continue to build for the future and called on all to join hands to build a better tomorrow for the country.
Obakpolor urged Nigerians to carry on with the peace crusade and campaign for the unity of the country, adding that the future of the nation is paramount.
Meanwhile, the Church as part of activities to mark its 10th Anniversary honoured six-members who worked hard torwards improving the Church.
