Group Lauds Amaechi For Christian Pilgrims Sponsorship
The Rivers State General Assembly of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) has paid glowing tributes to the Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for emerging the highest sponsor of Christian pilgrims to the Holy land within the last three years.
The outgoing chairman of the organisation Venerable Dan Akromesina who said this during a delegate conference in Port Harcourt said that Rivers State is reputed to sponsor the largest contingents of christian pilgrims to the Holy Land.
The outgoing OAIC chairman also expressed gratitude to God for the progress of OAIC in the state and the support and cooperation the organisation and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have enjoyed from the state Government. He was happy with the future prospects of the organisation.
Meanwhile, Christians have been enjoined to evolve effective communication strategies and vision for their mission to enable them succeed.
The Archbishop of Christ Healing Church of Nigeria (CHCN), His Grace, Most Rev. Benjamin Obomanu said this at the conference.
The Archbishop who spoke on the theme “Leadership Role in the Church of God, also charged religious leaders to be selfless in the discharge of their duties.
“Jesus is a servant leader who was honest, loyal to his father, persevering in his mission, courageous, humble, sensitive to the needs of the people even tempered, gentle, consistent in his resolve” he said.
Aichishop Obomanu who used several Biblical passages to support his message, said that leadership in the church involves ability to take calculated risks, good relationship with people and God, creativity and innovatiness and a disposition to accept failures.
The conference was attended by 13 Heads of OAIC member churches.
