Uduaghan Cautions Political Appointees Against Anti-Party
Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, has warned political appointees engaging in anti party activities to either deliver their wards or forget about reappointment.
The governor who gave the order at a town hall meeting in Obior, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, said political appointees should work hard to deliver their wards and restore confidence.
Dr Uduaghan said only party men who worked hard and recorded victory, will get reward while those who did not deliver their wards will lose party patronage.
He therefore charged political appointees to launch vigorous campaign in their wards and deliver all PDP candidates in the remaining elections.
His words “if you are a political appointee and engaging in anti party activities, forget your position. If you are not a loyal party man, you will not get Government patronage”.
The Governor in answer to a question denied ever sponsoring candidates in other political parties.
Dr Uduaghan said he is a foundation member of PDP and can never engage in anti-party activity.
He explained how he called several meetings on anti-party activities in the state and enjoined PDP stakeholders to ignore such speculation because they are just bundles of lie.
Emphasising further, he said “I have at no time given any directive to anybody to vote for candidates of other parties. I cannot do it and I have at no time or any day told people to vote for another party. I am a true party man”.
In answer to another question, the Governor promised to assess the extent of work done on some of the road projects in the area and take decisive action on them.
Dr Uduaghan appealed to the people of the local government to forget the past and forgive any political chieftain who wronged them and vote for all PDP candidates.
Speaking at the Town Hall meeting, the State Chairman of the party, Barrister Peter Nwaboshi aligned with the governor in the marching order given to political appointees and explained that saboteurs will not be allowed to get board appointments at both the state and federal level.
Barrister Nwaboshi also said anti-party perpetrators will not enjoy any government patronage either as contractors or as ministers.
In an address of welcome, a former Deputy Governor of the state, Chief B.S.C Elue assured the governor that the people of the area were solidly behind him.
Chief Elue said the people had been consistent in their support and described the Town Hall meeting as timely.
