Rivers Contractors Get New Guidelines For Work
The Rivers State Bureau On Public Procurement, has issued a new work guidelines to contractors in the State.
The Director-General of the Bureau, Barrister Frankline Nlerum, said the new guidelines would enable contractors to be on their toes in the execution of projects in the state.
Making the details of the guidelines known during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, the Bureau D-G said that apart from ensuring that contractors complete projects within time limit, the guidelines would create uniformity in the form of information on site with a view to creating visibility around projects across the state.
Other benefits, according to him, hinged on transparency and good governance in the state. He said the Bureau was committed in the promotion of transparency in every facet of governance in the state, adding that the era of project abandonment was gone in the state.
The Bureau D-G used the occasion to solicit the cooperation of the Rivers contractors towards the workability of the guidelines to ensure good governance in the state.
Details of the guidelines made available to newsmen include schedules of work, timeline for project completion, while meetings for procurement process was made a necessity.
