A statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by Mohammed Sule, Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister, quoted Mohammed as saying that his administration had not allocated any plot since it took over in April.
The statement said the allocations were made across the 63 districts comprising agriculture 60; commercial 3,837; industrial 328 and mixed use 373.
Others were mass housing 314; open space/green area 78; public institution 565; public utility unit 9; residential 53,750 and transportation 25.
The statement further said: “The Ministerial Committee on Repositioning Land Administration in FCT recently submitted its report with a lot of revelations.
“In the committee’s report, a total of 18,445 plots of land were allocated in the Federal Capital Territory from January 1, 2007 to April 2010.
“The committee further revealed that 12,816 which constitute 70.24 per cent of such allocations were done in the last five months of Mallam Nasir el-Rufai’s administration.
“The administrations of Dr Aliyu Moddibbo allocated 1,040 while that of Sen. Adamu Aliero allocated 4,589 plots which constituted 5.70 per cent and 25.15 per cent respectively.’’
The statement said the el-Rufai administration allocated 254 sites for mass housing scheme while Aliero allocated 71 mass housing sites.
It said Mohammed, on assumption of office, constituted a ministerial committee to formulate a roadmap for sustainable development of the FCT.
“Arrangement has been concluded to commence its full implementation in consonance with the desire of the federal government.
“The minister emphasised that the thrust of the roadmap included enhanced security, infrastructural development like potable water and good road network, improved land administration, transport/traffic regulation/ enforcement,’’ it added.
It also said 10- kilometre rural roads have been approved for all satellite towns to make them more attractive and thereby decongesting the city centre.
