Earlier the sermon which was extracted from Genesis chapter 22: verse 17 and Philippians chapter 4 verse 19 and delivered by the chairman, Cathedral Archdeaconry, venerable D.O.S Harry enjoined brethren to be committed in the service of God with all their substance, adding that all those who obey, fear God and give cheerfully to God will have divine Blessing.
He said obedience is the core word of the divine blessings from God, because to obey is better than sacrifice. He enjoined children of God not to repay evil with good according to the word of God so that blessing will be multiplied.
Describing the 2009 harvest celebration as a blissful one, the committee chairman Evang. Ibinabo Young Mathew said the church in order to set a standard, decided to select christians who are God fearing, honest and trust-worthy to appoint as patrons of honour.
He said the Ebenezer African Church which is 93 years old has been at the fore front of evangelism in the community and its surrounding and has also contributed her quota towards the eradication of social ills in the area.
