RSG Tasks Filling Station Owners On Availability Of Products
The Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Dr Dawari George has called for an enhanced collaboration between the Rives State Government and owners of filling station in the state to ensures availability of petroleum products
Dr George made the appeal recently in a meeting he held with the operators of filling stations in his office in Port Harcourt.
He emphasized the need for a stronger commitment on the part of the fuel operators to ensure constant availability of petroleum products in the state.
The commissioner said that the zero tolerance policy on corruption by the present administration still stands adding that defaulters would be brought to book.
Dr Dawari however, promised the operators of filling stations of adequate security from the state government and a conductive business environment.
In their contributions, petroleum products operators cited shortage of supplies from PPMC Depot high cost of product from private depots, increased transport cost from Lagos and Calabar depots as some of their handicaps.
They promised to co-operate with the state government to bring sanity into the sector.
In his vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr George Nwolu, thanked the commissioner for his initiative in convening the meeting and also praised the fuel operators for their large turn out and participation.
In attendance were the Area manager of PPMC, the Depot-Chief of PPMC, the sales officers of PPMC and Chairman of IPMAN, Chief Samuel Osaroejor.
