LG Boss Gets Kudos Over Projects Execution
Former acting Paramount Ruler of Mbiama community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon Emmanuel Dikio has said the best thing that has happened to the LGA in recent years is the choice of Hon. Hope Ikiriko as council chairman.
Dikio stated this at the weekend while speaking with newsmen in Mbiama.
He noted that the council area which hitherto was abandoned by the incumbent chairman’s predecessors had regained its pride of place in the comity of LGAs upon his assumption of office since three years ago.
The former monarch, who is the Supervisor for Education in the LGA, reemphasised that save for the prompt and early payment of salaries and arrears of staff, the chairman had also embarked on the largest number of projects.
The Supervisor maintained the chairman had the overwhelming support of major stakeholders of the area to continue for a second term.
“Because of the number of projects; housing, electrification, etc, you name it, that our chairman has executed, the party and the generality of the people of the LGA felt he has to consolidate on his first tenure achievements”, he said.
“Look, before now there was no electricity in any of our communities, but due to the love Hon. Ikiriko has for the people of this council area, our communities now enjoy steady power supply. He has to his credit more than 16 electrification projects”, he added.
He commended Governor NyesomWike over his developmental strides, saying the council boss is replicating the Governor’s love for the state in the council area.
Dikio said due to the chairman’s development friendly disposition, negotiations were at advanced stages to relocate the Mbiama market situated along the East-West road to a better and more befitting site.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
