Business Executive Seeks Upgrade Of PH Airport

A Rivers State-born business executive resident in the United States of America, Jerry Wanodi, has called for an upgrade of the Port Harcourt International Airport Omagwa, to a world class.
He also said that Rivers State deserves accelerated development which should also reflect in the airport, pointing out that the state is the treasure base of Nigeria.
Wanodi, who made the call while speaking to aviation correspondents shortly on his arrival at the airport, Tuesday, said Lagos and Abuja are not bigger than Port Harcourt.
“Rivers State needs to upgrade fast. We don’t have a good airport. We need a world class airport, and also a world class seaport.
“Rivers State should be better than Dubai, and so let the leaders see Dubai in Rivers State in the next 10 years. Let the political leaders in the State come together and drop ego and personal interest, and attract development to the state”, he said.
The diaspora business man also called on governor Nyesom Wike and Transportation Minister Chibuike Amaechi to come together and find ways to develop the State.
Wanodi congratulated Governor Wike on his electoral victory, which according to him, is well deserved, ” not just for him, but for the entire Rivers people.”
He urged the governor to build on the legacy he has initiated so that others that come after him, will continue on his legacies, just like what obtains in Lagos State.
Wanodi also urged Governor Wike to tackle the issues of cultism, kidnapping and other crimes headlong, so as to redeem the image of the State.
