Expert Wants CRF Compliance List Published

Former Director-General, Public Service Reform, Dr Joe Abah has urged the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) to publish list of agencies that complied with the remittance of operating surplus into the Consolidated Revenue Fund(CRF).
Abah made the suggestion at the FRC Management Retreat yesterday in Yankari, Bauchi State, adding that the list should include non complying agencies, in line with the provisions of the commission’s act, 2007 to check erring agencies. According to him, the commission should conduct annual press conferences to avail the public of the facts.
“The publication should rank the agencies from best to least in accordance with Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007 with relevant facts to make the agencies do better,” he said.
He further urged the commission to be proactive in agenda setting rather than allowing the public to raise questions on its activities.
Abah said that the commission should device means of assessing its members of staff, aside from the annual civil service Annual Performance Report (APER form), for best practices.
Abah also said that staff training should be taken seriously to enhance the capacity of members of staff of the commission while schedules should be assigned with relevant logistics to support service delivery.
The Acting Chairman, FRC, Mr Victor Muruako, said that the commission was committed to new reforms to deliver its mandate and for national development.
