Rivers Angels’ Coach Happy With Team’s Performance


Rivers Angels FC Coach, Edwin Okon, has commended his team for their impressive performance so far in the 2017/2018 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
Coach Okon made the commendation in a telephone interview shortly after the teams 3-1 victory against visiting Delta Queens played at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt.
According to him, the team has performed so well, so far in the NWFL and urged them not to relent in their good works, saying that their dream of winning the double must be actualised this soccer season.
“You girls should double your efforts now that the AITEO Cup draws has been made and is expected to kick-off on the 24 of this month. All hands must be on deck to ensure that we achieve our set goal for the season”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Angels have reassured on their readiness to put smiles on the faces of their fans as they are in high spirit and poised to achieve their dream.
Earlier, spokesperson of the club, Jessica Amadi has said that the girls have what it takes to take on any team in the federation, describing them (team) as the best female team in the federation.
“I trust the girls. They are determined and committed to their chosen career and also have what it takes to get the job done”.
“I am sure they will deliver a good result when the chips are down”, Jessica Amadi said.
Rivers Angels FC is paired alongside Bayelsa Queens Feeder, and Osun Babes in Group A for the group stage of the women AITEO Cup competition scheduled to kick-off 24 September through 28 at the Lafia Stadium, Lafia.
