Outreach Charges Students On Academic Excellence
Students have been encouraged to strive for excellence in their academics as they return to school for this new session.
The Pioneer of Spread Love Charity Outreach, Glory Okere, who gave this advice during a charitable exercise organised by the outreach in Port Harcourt, said the time to lay a strong academic foundation was now.
According to her, sound education would give an edge in the society that would in turn help the growth of the nation.
She called on students to be versatile, so that they could fit in anywhere they found themselves.
“The outreach is aimed at fulfilling Goal 4 of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which is quality education. That is why we are calling on Nigerian students to take their studies seriously”, she said.
Speaking on the theme of the exercise, “Design a Future You Want”, she emphasized on the need for younger generations to start planning what they want to be in the future.
“You can be whatever you want to be if you plan, work hard and be patient. Students should be able to discover their passion and in turn strive to fulfil these dreams”, she said.
Also speaking, Mr. Chukwudi Okereke, said education was a right of every child and the best institution for a child to grow up.
He called on parents to ensure their children who were not in school go to school so that they can be equipped to be independent and empowered.
Also speaking, an Elder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Engr Olugbenga Oremodu applauded the strides taken by the outreach to create the awareness of quality education in the country.
As part of impacting on the society, items such as books, rules and pens were distributed in various locations within the state.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
