LG Boss Tasks Principal Officers On Security


The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief Tom Aliezi has charged the 16 newly sworn-in principal officers in the loca government area to proffer ideas, solutions to curb insecurity in the locality.
The council boss stated this to The Tide shortly after inaugurating the council secretary, Ifeanyi Wokoma and the Chief of Staff, Isaac Okankwu and fourteen others last Thursday in his office at Emohua.
Chief Aliezi, who described Emohua Local Government as a flash point area in the state said, he was looking forward to work with people with great ideas to tackle insecurity and develop the local government area.
He charged the officers to contribute their ideas and work as a team to Liberate the council from backwardness and reposition it for socio-economic transformation.
He explained that his tenure would not tolerate favouritism, but merit and called on the officials to shun act capable of tarnishing the image of the council.
Chief Aliezi also tasked the Chairman, Emohua Sanitation Committee, Peter Wogbo to ensure that Emohua communities were kept clean to attract investors to the local government area.
Describing environmental sanitation as a healthy living, Aliezi said it was time for the committee not to trade blames, but to ensure cleanliness of the area.
On security, Chief Aliezi charged the new Senior Special Adviser on Security, Chief Emma Okogbule to ensure peace and unity in the area and beef up security across the communities in Emohua local government area.
Chief Aliezi insisted that, he would not hesitate to sack any officer who was found wanting in his duty and noted: “I appointed you, I will also sack you in same manner”.
Earlier, the Council Secretary, Ifeanyi Wokoma thanked the chairman for appointing them into positions of trust.
Wokoma vowed to partner with the council to tackle insecurity and reposition the council for a social economic transformation.
He appealed to the appointees to be diligent and exhibit hardwork, cooperation to move the council forward.
Others appointed include, Hon. Ihua Loveday, as the Chief Press Secretary, Prince Samuel, Special Adviser, Social Media, Jim Morison, Revenue Committee, Alex Okukwe Ndedbo, Protocol Officer, and Barr. Stephen Owake Awuse, Legal Adviser.
