Mr. Obinna, who stated this while speaking with The Tide in Port Harcourt yesterday, explained that the vacation period enabled senior lawyers to move around the globe while juniors faced the challenge of finance.
He described the vacation as a statutory provision, which empowered judicial officers to leave from the beginning of Agust every year.
He remarked that litigation lawyers, who had lesser engagements during the period had tried to augment through soliciting for his clients at police stations.
According to him,” basically, my source of income is legal practice and its related jobs, like going to the police, Zone 6 and others, so basically it is still legal practice.
On the recently concluded Nigerian Bar Association Election, Mr. Obinna hailed the leadership qualities of Mr. Paul Usoro, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN)for the victory and that his victory was well-deserved.
He, however, noted his victory was a surprise to most lawyers as many campaigned for Mr. Ernest Ojokwu.
“….From all indications and what I have gathered from, Usoro, the current NBA president is an erudite scholar with a lot of innovations he wants to implement.”
Mr. Obinna urged all lawyers to support Usoro’s administration to enable him give his best.
