All is now set for the kick-off of the third edition of the Amaranth Peace football tournament and the launching of a football magazine tomorrow at the Akpajo football field in Eleme Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The coordinator and chairman of the organising committee, Igwe Oluji said that necessary arrangements have been put in place to make the tournament hitch-free.
Oluji stated this in a telephone interview with Tidesports, saying that he thanked God for guiding them throughout the planning of the competition.
“We are so excited that everything went according to plan,” Oluji said.
Amaranth peace football tournament is aimed at discovering hidden talents, develop them to limelight and to make peace among the youth in the state.
This is the third edition of the tournament scheduled to kick-off tomorrow at 3pm , after the launching of the grassroots football magazine.
According to the chairman, the magazine contains the first and second editions of the grassroots competition and some health related matters
Oluji further thanked those teams that complied by registering for the competition in the short period of time, adding that the opening match would be between Prime Star and Wikinike United and said that football scouts will be around to discover potential talents in the tournament.
He called on football lovers in the state to come and entertain themselves with fine football at the Akajo football field tomorrow.
The coordinator appealed to well-meaning individuals, private companies to support the grassroots football in the state for the growth of the upcoming ones in the game.
