Wike, Youth-Friendly Governor, NYCN Affirms


The Board of Trustees of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has described Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike as a youth-friendly governor.
Chairman of the board, Chief Makole Azugbene, who said this during the National Congress of the Youth Council in Port Harcourt, at the weekend, commended the governor for accepting to host the congress at short notice.
The chairman, who was a former national president of the council, commended the touth for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner during the congress which had 29 state chairmen of the council in attendance, adding that plots to destabilize the youth election by some personalities in Abuja had also failed.
He charged the newly elected President of the council, Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo to ensure the youth were carried along in the scheme of things.
Also speaking, another former president of the council, Mr. Akarese Edumo urged youth in the country to remain committed to the ideals of the body and the development of the nation.
In his remarks, the former transition chairman of the body, Abduraman Gonji, thanked the youth for coming out en-mass for the election, despite intimidation.
According to him, the success of the congress has ended all forms of intimidation in the NYCN.
Meanwhile, the newly elected National President of the youth body, Amb Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo has vowed to run an all-inclusive government, stressing that the new administration would ensure peace in the body.
