Kwara United assistant coach, Suleiman Ashifat stated that his charges, inability to keep possession of the ball against Enyimba International FC last week led to the dropping of points at home to the peoples Elephant. He said that his players lost the ball too often to Enyimba hence they failed to win in midweek.
Ilchekwu Ibenegbu and Stephen Alfred both scored as Kwara and Enyimba drew 1-1 in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match in Ilorin.
“We lacked composure in the first quarter of the game but we were able to correct that during the half time team talk.
“We approached the second half differently tactically because we gave Enyimba plenty spaces to play.
”We had to close down the spaces and put pressure on them to get our equaliser,”he said on the league’s official website.
Struggling Kwara remained 20th on the league standings with 16 points from 15 games.
They travelled to the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium yesterday, where they faced Enugu Rangers in a league game.
