ASALGA Boss Vows To Protect Workers’ Rights


The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Council, (ASALGA), Hon Wright Promise Warmate has pledged to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers in the local government.
Warmate, who stated this in his goodwill message to mark the Workers Day in the area, praised council workers under the aegis of Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) and state government workers for aligning themselves with Governor Nyesom Wike’s reformation agenda.
He urged the workers to stick to the path of development by working hard for the progress and prosperity of the local government and the state in general.
According to him, “Asari-Toru Local Government is on the path of sustainable development. The council and the state government are paying attention to the needs of the workers”.
The council boss who maintained that Governor Wike had shown commitment to the welfare of workers through prompt payment of salaries and allowances, called on workers to adopt positive attitude that promotes unity, tolerance, respect and determination.
Describing workers as the engine room of government, Warmate commended members of NULGE  for keeping the council working.
“We have a lot to be proud of. We have achieved very commendable results which we must consolidate and improve upon,” he said.
He applauded the people of the local government and the entire Kalabari people for toeing the path of sanity, urging them to support the government of Wike and wish all workers in Nigeria a happy Labour Day,”
