RVHA Tasks Technocrats On Nigerian Economy


The Rivers State House of Assembly (RVHA) says technocrats with the requisite capacity are needed to fix the Nigerian economy.

The Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon Marshall Uwom stated this last Thursday, when a delegation of the Port Harcourt Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) visited him in his office in Port Harcourt.

According to him, the secret of Governor Nyesom Wike’s success was his partnership with reputable professionals of different disciplines for the delivery of democracy dividends in the state.

He said, the governor’s initiative governor, which has been a source of envy by the opposition, is a model the Federal Government can use to develop the nation and overcome the current economic recession in the country.

The Deputy Speaker, who lauded the NIM for his recognition as pioneer member, observed that the state Assembly is blessed with other members of the institute, including the Chief Whip, Hon Evans Bipi and the House Leader, Hon Martins Amaewhule among others.

Earlier, the Chairman of the NIM, Port Harcourt Chapter, Christian Abu said the aim of the visit was to solicit the support of the House to enable them organizse their 2016 annual lecture and dinner slated for December 2016.

He commended the Deputy Speaker for quality representation of his constituency‘, Abua/Odual, affirming that he is a true product of the institute and his people.
