Gov’s Aide Urges Women To Be Active In Politics

The Special Adviser to
Governor Willie Obiano on Political Matters, Mr Chinedu Obidigwe, has charged women in Anambra State to be politically active to have  a voice in the state.
Obidigwe made the call in an interview with newsmen in Awka.
He said that a great legacy would be laid if women in the state played active roles in politics.
According to him, women in Anambra have every reason to be active in political affairs of the state.
Obidigwe said that the wife of the governor, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, had demonstrated genuine effort in carrying the women along politically.
He said that over 20 women in the state had been given political appointments to oversee day to day running of government ministries, departments and agencies.
Obidigwe said that the governor’s wife had ensured that women were carried along in the affairs of the state, calling on women to join politics to contribute their quota to the development of the state.
“Her role in championing the interests of less-privileged persons in the state is unequaled and worthy of emulation.
Obidigwe also called on women in the state to mobilise support for Obiano in his bid to get a second term in office in next year’s gubernatorial election in the state.
