in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State who are yet to embrace the state government’s amnesty offer have been advised to do so, or be prepared to face community revolution.
The former aggrieved leader of Omuku youth, General Don Wani gave this warning following the renewed insurgence of cultists’ attacks in the area after the state government’s amnesty committee led by the Chairman, Hon Ken Chinda visited the area and disarmed some repentant cultists, including General Don Wani.
The former aggrieved youth leader gave those cultists who are still relunctant to embrace the programme and renounce their membership 48 hours to do so, adding that failure to embrace the olive branch extended to them by the state government would lead to community revolution against them.
According to him, he was ready to lead security agencies to fish them out from their hiding places if they fail to lay down their arms and embrace peace in the area.
He condemned what he described as unwarranted killings in Ubakata community in the area over the weekend by the heartless cult groups, adding that ONELGA must know peace and strive for development in this period.
He thanked the state government for the amnesty granted the aggrieved youths in the area, adding that the gesture would enhance the needed peace for the development of the area.
He further assured the state government of their resolve to sustain peace and security in the area .
It would be recalled that cultists stormed and killed four persons at a burial ceremony in Ubakata community few days after the convoy of the amnesty committee came under attack by some rampaging cultists in the area.
