MFM FC have cel
ebrated a successful fight against relegation, while appreciating the Lagos Governor, FA and fans for making it possible.
‘The Olukoya Boys’ escaped the drop by whiskers after beating FC IfeanyiUbah 1-0 in the final match day of the past season.
Chairman of the modest NPFL side Godwin Enakhena appreciated Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagosians and the teeming fans for the support rendered to the team.
“On behalf of the management, players and the entire Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, permit me to use this opportunity to say a big thank you for the unconditional support given to Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos in the just concluded 2015/16 Nigeria Professional Football League season,” he saluted.
“We bless God for using you as a tool to sail out of murky waters of relegation and keeping our place amongst the elite clubs in the NPFL.
“Truth is, it would have been difficult to stay afloat without your support.
“As we prepare for the 2016/17 season, which begins soon, we shall once again be counting on your support to be worthy representatives of Lagos State.
“May God grant you wisdom and good health to take Lagos State and sports to the next level.”
Meanwhile, A top of Akwa United FC has clarified the situation at the Nigeria premier league side by saying only goalkeeper trainer Mike Ekpenyong has been booted out, while other coaches led by Maurice Cooreman have not been affected.
“It’s only Ekpenyong who has been sacked,” disclosed the official.
“No decision has been taken on the other coaches including Cooreman yet.”
It was further gathered that a massive re-organisation of the playing staff is also underway with close to 30 players to be offloaded ahead of the coming season.
Nigeria cup holders Akwa United crashed out of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup in the preliminary round and placed 14th in the league.
