IGSDA Tackles Sports Dev Issues In Rivers S’East

Grassroots Sports Development Association, (GSDA will seek to x-ray issues affecting grassroots sports development in Rivers State, especially, the Rivers South East senatorial district in a conference billed for Alode, Eleme.
According to the founder and president of IGSDA, Ambassador Miebi Ogunu, in a chat with newsmen, the Eleme Chapter of the association will tomorrow host local government area coordinators and coaches in the conference.
Also, grassroots coaches in wrestling, swimming, boxing, table tennis, Basketball, Kung Fu, athletics and football from various communities within the district will be part of the meeting.
Ogunu said that issues pertaining to effective grassroots sports development, coaches welfare, competition management, player marketing and participation in the forthcoming ‘Move On Gel El-classico Trial’ fixed for 14th – 16th of this month, will be put on table.
A chieftain of the Rivers State football association, Chief Job Mkpo is expected to be the Guest of Honour while Ambassador Ogunu would deliver the keynote address. Others expected at the conference are the state technical coordinator and is deputy respectively. Raphael Akunna and Nelson Barineka, and coaches from Andoni/Opobo, Khana, Gokana, Tai, Ogu/Bolo, Oyigbo, Omuma, Obio/Akpor, Etche, Ikwerre and Eleme Local Government Areas.
