The Director of the
National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Rivers State Mr Oliver Wolugbom has blamed some politicians from cultism and continued killings in the state and other parts of Nigeria.
Wolugbom, who said this recently in chat with The Tide in Port Harcourt, expressed concern that the killings would be worse if proactive measure are not taken.
He said cultists who perpetrate criminal acts are usually under the protection of their political god fathers.
Warning that unless those behind the cult groups are fished out, Wolugbom pointed out that it would be very difficult to stop killings in the state.
The NOA Director called on governments at all levels to support the Wike in curbing crime.
On development, Wolugbom commended the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyeson Wike for his developmental strides since assumption of office.
Noting that Governor Wike has really shown that infrastructural development was his priority in the first year of his tenure, the NOA Director opined that the governor has performed very well in road construction in Port Harcourt and its environs.
On Nigerian flag and national anthem, Wolugbom warned against their negligence or regretting that majority and Nigerians including those in positions of trust do not obey national anthem at public occasions.
He urged public and private institutions to fly Nigeria’s flag at all homes as proof of loyalty to the nation.
