Kudos As PDP Holds Ward Congress


The Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) held its Ward Congress across the federation last Saturday to elect its ward executive.
In Rivers State, the congress  was generally peaceful as party faithfuls trooped out in large numbers for the exercise.
Some of the wards monitored by The Tide, it was observed that most of the former leadership of the party at the ward level were retained because of their contributions in ensuring and sustaining the progress of the party in the state.
Speaking to The Tide, the Chairman of the Party in Port Harcourt local Government Area (PHALGA), Mr.Ikechi Chinda said the election in the local government was done peacefully in line with the party’s policy and peaceful disposition of the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
Chinda said the congress went fine and was free and fair, commending the returning officers who he said executed their jobs with utmost transparency by allowing the party members to elect party leaders of their choices.
He noted that interested members collected forms and election was fair and peacefully, adding that the party has not received any complains yet.
The party boss commended the State chairman of the party Brother Felix Obuah and Governor Wike for taking the party ahead of others in the state, stressing that the party is currently working as one family and with one objective and aim.
Chinda commended members for their peace disposition during the congress and urged them to maintain the tempo.
He denied any disagreement among members of the party in the local government as he commended the stakeholders and party leadership for their commitment to the party.
