Enugu Police Nabs Two Kidnap Gangs

mand has apprehended two notorious kidnap gangs that have been terrorising the state and its environ.
Parading the suspects before journalists at the Command’s headquarters in Enugu,the state Commissioner of Police, Nwodibo Ekechukwu,said the first syndicate was apprehended in far away, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
“The Enugu state police command in a carefully- planned operation ambushed the gang at a gun point, along Itu- Calabar road, in Uyo, during which the members tried to escape”
The gang leader, Etim Amos, who had been posing as a Soldier, and had an Army cap on the dashboard of any car he used just to deceive people, was gunned down along another member, one Otunre Nse”
The CP,disclosed that the Honda CRV belonging to Mrs. Sandra Onu with which she was abducted was recovered from them, including a gun, the handsets of the victims, fake Army ID cards, bearing CPL Etim Henry Amos”
According the Commissioner, “the first syndicate, led by Etim Amos, of Abiakpo Ibo road, Ikot Ekpene, was behind the kidnapping of Barr. John Abugu at G.R.A, Enugu.
He said that the same gang was also responsible for the recent abduction of one Mrs. Jane Ekweremadu at Agric Bank junction, Independence Layout Enugu, among other kidnap cases.
The Amos-led notorious gang, equally kidnapped another victim, Mrs. Sandra Onu, along with her Honda CRV car, with Registration number, Lagos JJJ447 CL at New Haven area of Enugu.
The Enugu state police boss, said he would ensure all the  criminal elements were flushed out of the area and advised hoodlums operating in the state to look for legitimate source of livelihood, or be ready to incur the full wrath of the law if nabbed.
“The other smashed kidnapping gang, is made up of Nonso Onyebuchi of Obeagu Awgu local government area who is the leader of the gang, as well as Collins Chime of Obinagu Udi, and a relation of one of the victims”.  They had kidnapped one Elder Chime Edwin, a UK returnee from Obinagu Udi on 2/4/2016. All the suspects have confessed to the crimes.
“Enugu State Command will continue to be the grave of all criminals as you have always seen”, the CP stated.
