Murderers Of Enugu Lawyer’ll Not Go Scot-free

Governor Ifeanyi
Lawrence Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, has assured the bereaved family of Enugu late lawyer, Barr. Ejimofor Ozongwu, who was recently murdered in a cold blood, of his determination to ensure that perpetrators of the barbaric act did not go scot-free.
He stated this weekend when he visited the scene where the late prominent lawyer and Executive Secretary of the Movement for the Actualisation of creation of Adada State was brutally murdered at Okwojo Ngwo in Udi council area of the state.
It would be recalled that  Ozongwu was allegedly killed by yet to be identified hoodlums on December 23, last year over a land dispute.
The governor, had promised that government would look into the matter and take decisive decision in order to forestall further occurrence of such dastardly act.
Ugwuanyi was accompanied to the scene by the member, representing Enugu North/South Federal Constituency in the House of representatives, Hon. Chime Oji, former Minister of State, for Foreign Affairs, Chief Dubem Onyia, immediate past Commissioner for Justice in the state, Chief Anthony Ani, among  other leaders of thought in the community.
He described the late lawyer as a good citizen of Enugu State who had championed the course for the creation of Adada State.
In his remarks, a community leader from the area, Ozo Ramsey Onyia described late Ozongwu as a “liberator to the community”, adding that what happened to him was beyond the issue of land dispute.
He said that the late lawyer had been protecting the interest of the villagers from the early 90s, especially the down trodden, expressing confidence that the governor’s visit would go a long way to address the issue to the satisfaction of the people of the community and the general public at large.
In his speech, an ex- Minister, Chief Onyia, who equally hails from the community thanked the governor for the visit and his assurance that justice will be done in the matter.
