Royal Fathers Present Gift Items To Less Privileged
The Rivers State Council
of Traditional Rulers has put smiles on the faces of orphans and less privileged persons by presenting gift items during the festive period.
The council led by its chairman, His Royal Majesty, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja visited some orphanage and physically challenged persons homes in Port Hracourt recently and donated food stuff and textile materials to less privilege persons as Christmas and New Year gifts.
King Jaja, who described Christmas period as the period to show love to mankind urged the people to emulate Christ in the relationship with one an other.
King Jaja commended the authorities of the charity homes for their perseverance and tolerance of the orphans and less privileged and called for more support from institutions and public-spirited individuals to enhance the well-being of the ophans and the less privileged in the society.
The Royal majesty also called on governments and private sectors to establish special schools and training centres for this group of the people to save them the trouble of going into the labour market.
Responding, the matrons of elderly and orphanage homes in Port Harcourt, Sister Agubosi Mary J. Rapheals and Mrs Barile Nwaku thanked the council of the traditional rulers for its kind gesture toward the needy, especially at this period of Christmas celebration.
Items donated include bags of rice, gallons of vegetable oil tomatoes cartons of Indomies, Crates of soft drinks, water, soaps, cloths among other.
Traditional rules in the entourage were Amanyanabo of Kalabari, HRM, King Theophilous J.T Princewill, King Godwin N.K Giniwa, the Nyenweli of Isiokpo, HRM Eze Blessing Ahiazuwo Wagor among others.
