SWAN’s VP Hails U-23 Eagles For Olympics Qualification

The South South
Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Mr Honour Sirawoo has congratulated Nigeria’s U-23 team for qualifying for the finals of
the on-going AFCON U-23 championship and the 2016 Rio Olympic male football event.
The Dream VI, as the team is popularly known, edged past host Senegal by a lone goal  to book a place in their first ever finals of the African U-23 Nations cup tournament.
Sirawoo said the success of the team so far is no doubt a reflection of the support the South South State government of Rivers gave the team while they camped and played
in Port Harcourt.
He commended Governor Nyesom Wike for his unwavering support to Nigeria’s national teams, especially the Super Eagles and the U-23 side.
The south south Vice President tasked the Siasia tutored side not to rest on their oars but ensure that they win the final encounter against Algeria to become the second team
to lift the AFCON U-23 championship after Gabon.
