The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has appointed 12 Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service.
Similarly, the governor has directed the Provost of the Rivers State College of Arts and Science, Dr. Hillary Wordu to proceed on compulsory leave.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah in Port Harcourt.
According to the statement, those appointed as Permanent Secretaries are Dr. Adolphus Nweke from Etche, Mrs Abiye Tobin-West from Asari-Toru, Dr. Nkor Felix from Gokana and James Enebeli from Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas.
Also appointed are Anthony Nweyilobu also fromOgba/Egbema/Ndoni, Sir Alawari Ndu from Obio/Akpor, Dr. Agiuiye Harry from Degema, Mrs Caroline Wali from Obio/Akpor and Felix Odungweru from Port Harcourt City Local Government  Areas.
The rest are; Dame Josephine Chukwuigwe, Ikwerre, Mrs Helen Peters, Ogu/Bolo and Mrs Florence Fiberesima from Okrika Local Government Areas.
The statement also said that the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries would be sworn-in on the 7th of August, 2015, at the Executive Chambers of Government House, Port Harcourt.
In a related development, the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, has ordered the Provost of the Rivers State College of Arts and Science to hand over to Dr. Samuel Kalagbor with immediate effect.
Wike also appointed Joe Akpa as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Protocol.
The appointment of Akpa also takes immediate effect.
