Chime Gets Lifetime Achievement Award

Governor Sullivan
Chime of Enugu State has been honoured with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Enugu Association USA Inc (Enugu USA), the umbrella body of Enugu State indigenes resident in the United States of America.
According to a press statement made available to journalists in Enugun the group had in a citation presented at its just concluded 2014 annual convention in Houston, Texas, said the governor was being honoured for his unprecedented records and achievements in “Promoting the General Welfare and Prosperity of the People of Enugu State”.
They said the governor had radically transformed the lives of the people of the state through his critical interventions in all aspects of development in the state and by his visionary and exemplary leadership.
Receiving the award  at the Marriot Westchase Hotel, Houston, Governor Chime thanked the body for the tremendous assistance that it has continued to render to his administration towards the actualisation of the collective aspirations of Enugu people.
He noted that the body had made fruitful interventions through its branches and sub-groups towards the development of the state especially in the health, educational and agricultural sectors.
The governor who was represented by the State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr Jude Akubuilo, said his administration had indeed achieved milestones in the development of the state with comparatively meagre resources and without borrowing.
He said that though the government did not delight in trumpeting its achievements, it was encouraged by the accolades and plaudits it has continued to receive from credible local and international organisations.
The governor promised to sustain the current momentum of development in the state, while taking every democratically acceptable step to ensure those who would succeed him in office “were people whose primary objective will be to serve the people”.
