Man, 39, Docked For Attempted Murder


A 39-year old man,
Bishop Archibong, has been arraigned before a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate for an alleged attempted murder on charge sheet number PMC/32c/2014.
The accused person, Bishop Archibong, 39, is standing trial on a three count charge of attempted murder and other criminal offences before E. C. Woke.
The prosecution told the court that the accused person on the 4th January, 2014 at No 11 Trans Amadi Industrial Layout, Port Harcourt in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did unlawfully wound one Bright Enyelike by giving him human bite on his right palm, adding that the accused attempted to kill one Bright Enyelike by gripping and dragging his private part (scrotum) which endangered his life.
The prosecution further told the court that also on the 5th January, 2014 at the same place in the aforesaid magisterial district, did unlawfully wound one Bright Enyelike by biting him with an iron in his head which caused him grievous harm, thereby committed an offence punishable under Sections 320, 338 and 332 (1) of the criminal Code Cap 37 Vol.11 Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.
Ruling on the matter, the presiding Chief Magistrate E. C. Woke granted him bail with the sum of N100,000.00 with one surety who will produce four passport photographs and show evidence of landed property.
The surety should reside within the jurisdiction and residence must be verified by the court prosecutor. The case was later adjourned to 30th May, 2014.
