Pastor, Other Docked For Alleged Stealing


A clergyman with one of
the new generation Penticostal Churches in Rivers State, Pastor Godwin Fedelis and another accomplice, Godfred Olver have been docked before a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court presided over by I. F. Iyiabo for an alleged stealing with charge Sheet number PMC/CR213C/2014.
The accused persons, Pastor Godwin Fedelis, 39and Godfred Oliver, 18 are standing trial on two count charge of conspiracy and stealing before I.F. Iyiabo.
The Police Prosecuting Officer, Insp. Wilson Isaiah told the court that the accused persons on the 29th of January 2014 at about 0400 hours at No. 5 James Wuche Street, Stadium Road, Port Harcourt, in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District did conspire among themselves to commit felony to wit: stealing.
The Police Prosecutor further told the court that the accused persons on the same date, time and place within the jurisdiction of the court did steal a hand bag valued N50,000, wrist watch valued, N200,000, black berry 210 phone valued ninety thousand naira, Apple 1 pad 3 valued N180,000, a cash sum of N172,000.00 total property stolen valued at N742,000.00 property of one Chukwu Lawrence.
He averred that the accused persons committed an office punishable under section 516 A (1) and 390 (9) of the criminal code cap 37 vol.11 laws of Rivers State 1999.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty on the two count charge brought against them.
The Presiding Chief magistrate I.F. Iyiabo granted the accused bail on the sum of N500,000 each with one surety each in like sum. The surety must swear affidavit of means, deposit 4 passport photograph while the prosecutor shall verify the address of the surety. The case was later adjourned to 12/3/2014 for hearing.
