Community To Launch Dev Trust Fund
The people of Egi in
Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area under the aegis of Egi National Assembly has concluded plans to launch a development trust fund to encourage entrepreneurship and education of youths.
President of Egi National Assembly, Chief Oris Onyiri, who disclosed this to The Tide in an interview at the Port Harcourt International Airport, said the organisation intended to create wealth among the people.
Chief Onyiri explained that the trust fund would ensure that every child in the area enjoy free education to all levels, pointing out that the Egi people want to create a friendly environment where the youths and women will be meaningfully engaged.
He noted that the body had engaged competent persons to produce data base of the people to help in actualising the objective and to effectively plan for the development of the area.
“We are currently doing the data base of the area and we have engaged competent hands to achieve it because it is important to know how many persons we are planning for”, he said.
Chief Onyiri, disclosed that the Egi Assembly wants to engender quality education and to achieve this, the organisation is partnering with stakeholders within and outside the country.
The president said they would be receiving members of the African Caribean Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Egi City Chamber of Commerce to encourage entrepreneurs among the youths in Egi land.
He also announced that Egi youths summit will take place soon to enrich the knowledge of the youths on the availability of various enterprises and opportunities that exist for them noting that a lot of people are coming to Egiland to seek for investment interests that exist for them.
On the level of kidnapping in the area, Chief Oyiri, said his organisation was working with relevant authorities to check crime but added that when the youths are gainfully engaged crime will reduce drastically.
