Information reaching The Tide Entertainment has it that Nollywood Stars, Rivers State born actress Monalisa Chinda, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha and Desmond Elliot have been dropped as GLO Ambassadors due to some issues that contradict the telecommunication company’s brand value.
According to our source, the development has made the brand to switch over to less controversial, young music stars such as Owawumi Mgbele, Waje, Mi, and Naeto C who have been unveiled as new brand ambassadors for the telecommunication giant.
Others include Tiwa Savage, Lynxx, Flavour, Burma Boy and Bez Idakula.
It was gathered that the new ambassadors were heavily compensated with mouth watering endorse-ment fees ranging from N10 million to N20 million annually. Their deals cover an initial two years, subjected to renewals. Already Omawumi, Waje, Lynxxx and Flavour have been showcased in the GLO’s Mobile Number portability compains on newspapers and radio commercials.
Others, like Naeto C , Bez and Tiwa Savage are being expected to follow suit, and in a matter of weeks, the faces of the new GLO ambassadors will dot a lot of bill boards nationwide. With these latest ambassadors, it will bring the number of new artistes engaged as GLO ambassadors to 10.
The masked Afrobeat Star Lagbaja a few weeks ago joined the likes of P-square and Sammy Okposo who have signed a deal with them a long time ago. Also still on board are ace comedian, Basketmouth, Nonso Diobi, Nuhu Aliu and Odunlade Adokola.
It would be recalled that GLO dropped Kate Henshaw and Jim Iyke as its brand ambassadors few years ago when it signed Odumlage Adekola and Kunle Afolayan as ambassadors.
