The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Port Harcourt branch, has sought for an end to the incessant oil theft within the Niger Delta.
This was stated in a statement issued by the union in Port Harcourt and made available to The Tide.
The Union calls for concerted efforts by all the stakeholders to effectively create platform of awareness and enlightenment on the danger of oil theft and pipeline vandalization.
The union said, oil theft and pipeline vandalisation are part of the reasons the country is currently experiencing fuel shortage supply.
The union appealed to the various communities Chiefs to always assist the relevant government agencies for effective monitoring of pipeline crises-crossing through their domains.
The statement stressed the need for joint partnership with the union for community policing of the pipelines.
