Governor’s Cup: ONELGA Celebrates Victorious Opener

The Opobo/Nkoro (ONOLGA) football club has kicked off its campaign in the 2012 Rivers States Governor’s cup football competition on a victorious note.

In its first match at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt, the ONOLGA team overcame their Eleme courterpart 2-0 with its goals scored by Fortune Omonigho and Esau Maxwell.

An elated chairman of ONOLGA, Hon Maclean Uranta moments after the match expressed optimism that the club would emerge winner of the competition.

He said that the council had always encouraged programmes and projects that will take youths away from social vices and encourage them to identify their talents in order to make success of all their endeavours.

Addressing the players and officials of the team, Hon. Uranta, admonished them not to underate any opponent but ensure that they go all the way to the ultimate goal by lifting the trophy.

He pleaded with them to make all necessary sacrifices to see that the coveted trophy brought to Opobo/Nkoro.
