The Coach of Manchester United Football Club of Port Harcourt at the on-going Comrade Kala Mega Soccer Championship, Mr. Nicky Alaye Otaji has said that he was impressed with his team’s 3-2 victory over QPR FC at the Number six-field Mini-Stadium Port Harcourt, last Saturday.
According to him, his boys who had not trained for sometime came into the game with a winning mentality which saw them through the game.
“The game was a very interesting one though my boys were a bit heavy because they have not trained for sometime now, it was few days ago that we resumed training just for the purpose of this competition, that was the reason we were a bit under the weather.
“But on the whole, I was very happy that we sailed through despite the referee trying to balance the game by giving a longer extra time. Whenever people come here to watch any competition they always want the game to end up on penalty shootouts, but fortunately to us today we won the game within 90 minutes of play,” Otaji said.
Some of previous matches played in the same venue witnessed Marine FC defeating Rivers Bank FC 3-0 and J-3 Boys FC beating Red Fox FC to qualify into second round of the championship.
